The Warrens Medical Centre involved the construction of a two-storey primary care centre designed to house a GP surgery, consulting rooms, teaching seminar areas, a specialist clinic, and a pharmacy. Located on Green Belt land, the project emphasised sustainability to gain planning consent. The building's design features a curved profile and is set two metres below ground level to blend with the broadleaf woodland backdrop.

The Warrens Medical Centre

Sutcliffe was responsible for the civil and structural design of the Warrens Medical Centre, a two-storey primary care centre situated on green belt land. The design included a curved building, lowered by two metres into the ground to reduce visual impact and blend with the surrounding woodland.

The project utilised local materials such as natural stone and green oak cladding to align with sustainability objectives. The centre was designed to achieve an ‘excellent’ rating under BREEAM, reflecting its environmental performance. The project received the Green Apple Sustainability Award 2021 and the LRSA Design Award 2021 for its effective integration with the landscape and adherence to sustainability principles. Sutcliffe’s involvement ensured the project met both functional and environmental requirements.
