Sutcliffe and Sean Keyes win awards at the Merseyside Independent Business Awards

Sutcliffe had a successful night at the Merseyside Independent Business Awards, held at the Titanic Hotel, hosted by Moorcrofts LLP. Sutcliffe were named Professional Services Business of the Year for the second consecutive year and Sean Keyes won the award for Business Person of the Year.

Professional Services Business of the Year

To win this award for the second consecutive year is a huge achievement for the team and is a testament to our commitment to the level of services we provide.

Following on from the success of last year, Sutcliffe have continued to improve and grow in terms of success having been appointed on some of the UK’s most significant frameworks and helping our staff grow and develop in their careers.

We recently celebrated our 40th Anniversary at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, bringing together friends, clients and colleagues to reminisce over the last 40 years while looking ahead to many more.

We also once again hosted our annual Spring Charity Ball raising money for the Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity, the Liverpool University Hospital Charity and Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. We had our target set at £75,000 and exceeded this to £85,000 through the incredible generosity of our guests, sponsors and supporters.

Sean Keyes

Sean has been at Sutcliffe for 35 years and alongside his duties as CEO, he works closely with non-for-profit organisations and good working practices.

Sean is one of the region’s few chartered engineers and surveyors with 40 years in the construction industry, having started as a YTS Apprentice. He is known for his visionary leadership, which has led to consistent growth in turnover, staff numbers, and profits. Beyond his work at Sutcliffe, he is actively involved in the local community as a school governor, Trustee of the Archdiocese of Liverpool, Regional Chair of the Association of Consulting and Engineering, NED of the Environmental Industries Commission, NED of the Liverpool BID and Liverpool Chamber.

It is an honour to win the award and Sean will continue to help the industry’s future grow by training 40 new engineers over the next decade.

Thank you

We would like to extend our gratitude to Morecrofts LLP for hosting a brilliant event to celebrate the Merseyside independent business community. A huge congratulations to all the other winners and finalists for a fantastic night.
