Expertise in complex, live blue light environments

At Sutcliffe, we pride ourselves on our extensive experience and understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of the emergency services sector. Our expertise in delivering blue light projects, encompassing fire, police, and ambulance facilities, ensures that we provide innovative, secure, and robust solutions that support the critical operations of these essential services.

Working within the blue light sector requires a special set of skills and a comprehensive understanding of the operational demands placed on emergency services. We are accustomed to working around the constraints of live 24-hour environments, where maintaining health and safety is paramount. Our approach guarantees the safety of both staff and the general public, ensuring that ongoing operations are never disrupted.

One such example is the Prescot Fire Station project, a new build facility that combines fire, ambulance, and police services for the North West Fire and Rescue Service. This project posed a significant challenge as it was situated on a former mining area with multiple coal shafts. Our team of Chartered Engineers successfully designed grouting plans for the former coal seams and developed specialised foundations that spanned over the existing coal shafts, ensuring a secure and stable structure.
