Extensive experience and impact

We are proud to be recognised as an award-winning specialist in extra care developments with our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals who require additional support evident in the numerous projects we have successfully delivered across the UK. At Sutcliffe, we continue to lead the way in creating compassionate, sustainable, and high-quality living environments.

Over the last decade, Sutcliffe has played a pivotal role in completing over 1,500 extra care apartments, contributing significantly to the housing needs of older adults and those requiring supported living. We have been integral to delivering over £50 million in extra care facilities, with another £50 million worth of projects in the pipeline. This has resulted in the completion of 1,000 housing units in recent years, and our pipeline remains strong, with 10 extra care developments either on site or in development.

Award winning extra care projects

Our expertise in extra care development has been recognised with several accolades, including the prestigious award for Best New Development in Wales at the LABC Awards for Llys Raddington in Flint. This recognition shows our dedication to delivering innovative and impactful solutions that cater to the specific needs of vulnerable populations.

Supporting specialised needs

As the demand for supported living solutions grows, Sutcliffe has expanded its focus to include specialised care facilities for individuals with autism and dementia. One of our notable projects in this area is the Mayfield Autism Centre in Wigan, where we constructed 12 independent units designed to support adults living with autism. The project features a sensory room with 3D imagery, a therapeutic garden area, and a robust structural design to ensure the building’s longevity. Our goal is to create environments where individuals with extra needs can feel fully independent and integrated into the local community.

Extra care solutions across sectors

Sutcliffe’s expertise extends across a variety of care facilities, ranging from private sector developments to specialist centres for local authorities. Our experience and dedication have enabled us to efficiently deliver numerous schemes that meet the unique needs of each client and the individuals they serve. By integrating modern design techniques and a deep understanding of the care sector, we ensure that every project we undertake not only meets the highest standards but also positively impacts the lives of those who will call these facilities home.

Committed to quality and compassion

At Sutcliffe, our role goes beyond construction; it is about creating safe, supportive, and nurturing environments that empower individuals to live independently and with dignity. We understand the critical importance of these developments in the communities they serve, and we are committed to continuing our legacy of excellence in the extra care and supported living sectors. Whether through new construction or the refurbishment of existing structures, Sutcliffe remains at the forefront of delivering exceptional care facilities that stand the test of time.
