Award shortlist at the Merseyside Independent Business Awards

We would like to thank those who nominated us and Merseyside Independent Business Awards for shortlisting ourselves and Sean for this year’s awards.

These nominations are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team. We couldn’t be more proud to receive this recognition. As we eagerly anticipate the awards ceremony, we are hopeful and excited about the possibility of bringing home a win.

The Merseyside Independent Business Awards (MIB Awards) celebrate and recognise the achievements of independent businesses across the Merseyside region in the UK. These awards were established to recognise the contributions of local entrepreneurs, small and medium businesses, and independent companies that drive the region’s economy, promote innovation, and create employment opportunities for the Liverpool City Region and beyond.

The Professional Services Business of the Year Award recognises a local business that excels in delivering exceptional services, demonstrating growth, and leadership in its field. Recipients consistently exceed client expectations with creative and unique solutions that set them apart from competitors. The award acknowledges significant rates of growth, whether in client base, revenue, or market reach, all achieved with a strong commitment to quality and ethics. A firm commitment to sustainability and ethical practices is essential to earning this award too.

We are thrilled to be nominated in recognition of our efforts to deliver social value, contributing an impressive 10% of our resources to making a meaningful impact. In addition, we have reported strong levels of growth with record figures over the last financial year, reporting a £6.5m turnover in 2023 which represents a 12% growth. Thanks to the success of 2023, Sutcliffe has also been particularly successful when it comes to frameworks and is among a select group of SMEs appointed to some of the nation’s most significant frameworks, valued at over £2.5bn collectively. It has been equally as amazing this past year in 2024 and we cannot wait to see how much further we can climb.

Our CEO Sean Keyes has also been nominated for the Business Personality of the Year Award. This award celebrates an exceptional individual who has made a remarkable impact through their leadership and pioneering efforts. It recognises someone who has achieved significant success in their business but also demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and commitment to their industry and community.

Sean has demonstrated why he is deserving of the award through his many roles throughout the years. In 2023, under Sean’s leadership, Sutcliffe launched its annual spring charity ball and this year, Sutcliffe held its second ball, raising funds for two charitable organisations. Surpassing its initial target, Sutcliffe raised over £65,000 with half of the funds going to Liverpool Women’s Hospital to purchase a new incubator and the other half for dementia patients at the Royal Liverpool. Sean has pledged to support local NHS charities to raise £75,000 next year. Being nominated for this award highlights Sean’s remarkable influence and achievements at Sutcliffe, showcasing how he has used his success to drive positive social impact for local communities.
