Sutcliffe has been named a finalist not once, not twice, but three times at the 2025 Liverpool City Region Property Awards.
From heritage regeneration to community impact and game-changing healthcare projects, our team has been recognised in some of the most meaningful categories at this year’s event.
Hosted at the stunning Titanic Hotel on 9 October, the Property Awards Dinner is always one of the highlights of the calendar for the region’s built environment sector and we are incredibly proud to be celebrating alongside so many brilliant people and projects and recognised in the following categories:
Social Impact Award: Giving Back with Purpose
This year’s shortlisting for the Social Impact Award is particularly close to our hearts. In April, we hosted our annual Charity Ball at the Titanic Hotel’s Rum Warehouse, raising an incredible £89,000, significantly exceeding our £75,000 target.
The event held added significance as it followed the personal breast cancer diagnosis of our Communications Director, Jacqui Johnson, just days after the 2024 event. Her strength and journey inspired the evening’s fundraising efforts, which supported Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, Liverpool Women’s Hospital, and University Hospitals of Liverpool.
The ball was an unforgettable night filled with generous auction prizes, touching speeches, and the presence of healthcare heroes. With support from headline sponsor Austin Wilkinson Demolition and friends of Sutcliffe, we were able to give back to the NHS professionals who make an immeasurable difference every day.
As our CEO Sean Keyes shared:
“This event was our way of saying thank you. It was incredibly moving to honour Jacqui’s journey, celebrate her strength, and support the NHS professionals who help so many.”
Heritage Project of the Year: Tobacco Warehouse Transformation
The Tobacco Warehouse regeneration is one of Liverpool’s most iconic transformation stories and we’re proud to be part of the team making it happen. With a £250 million investment, this colossal Victorian-era warehouse is being carefully reimagined as a vibrant new community of homes, shops, and spaces, all while preserving its unique character.
This isn’t just about bricks and mortar. It’s about sustainability, legacy, and creating places people want to live and connect in. From sensitive structural adaptations to wildlife protection (yes, there are even peregrine falcons nesting on the roof!), it’s been a privilege to help shape a scheme that balances history with innovation.
When complete, Tobacco Warehouse will be home to 1,500 residents and a buzzing mix of shops, cafés and leisure spaces, a true landmark in Liverpool’s regeneration journey.
Outstanding Development of the Year: Arrowe Park Hospital A&E Extension
Our third shortlisting recognises Sutcliffe’s integral work on the A&E department extension at Arrowe Park Hospital, nominated for Outstanding Development of the Year.
This project has been all about improving patient care, with a new single-point-of-entry emergency department designed to ease ambulance access, reduce waiting times, and support better patient flow. This transformative scheme on the Wirral includes the demolition of the outdated urgent treatment centre and the construction of a larger, more efficient A&E department.
Our team carried out demolition and structural surveys at night to minimise disruption, designed clever foundation solutions around existing services, and led a phased construction strategy that kept vital NHS services running 24/7 throughout the build.
It’s been complex. It’s been challenging. But it’s also been incredibly rewarding, and we’re so proud of what we’ve helped deliver.
Andrew Turner, Regional Manager at Tilbury Douglas, commented:
“Sutcliffe has provided consistently excellent and technically competent support for our pre-construction and site delivery teams on complex projects… We would have no hesitation recommending them.”
The Liverpool City Region Property Dinner returns to the iconic Titanic Hotel on 9 October 2025, bringing together the region’s most influential developers, investors, and placemakers.
We’re excited to celebrate the strength and resilience of our sector, reflect on the regeneration stories transforming our communities, and share this moment with our peers and partners.
Congratulations to all fellow finalists – we’ll see you on the night!
