Sutcliffe Communications Director, Jacqui Johnson, wins Employee of the Year at the 2024 Livercool Awards

On Thursday 21st November, our very own Jacqui Johnson received the recognition she deserves at the Livercool Awards, where she was named Employee of the Year.

The Livercool Awards, hosted annually by Downtown in Business, celebrates exceptional individuals and businesses across the Liverpool City Region. These awards highlight those who have made significant contributions to their industries and communities, recognising talent from sectors such as property, professional services, and the creative industries. The awards play a vital role in showcasing the strength and innovation within our local business community.

The evening kicked off with a red carpet welcome and a champagne reception, followed by a dinner alongside some of the region’s most prominent business leaders and innovators. The awards ceremony itself was the evening’s highlight, celebrating business leaders and giving them recognition for the work they do in various industries.

Jacqui’s win this year is particularly meaningful, coming off the back of a very tough year after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis in April 2024. Jacqui has faced everything thrown her way and her determination, bravery and never-wavering love for life has inspired us all.

In Jacqui’s role at Sutcliffe, Jacqui is a proactive leader who ensures Sutcliffe’s values are reflected in everything we do. She champions sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical governance while keeping our communications aligned with CSR and ESG principles. Jacqui also focuses on employee well-being, driving recruitment to bring in top talent and keeping the team engaged with company updates. Her work helps create an open, inclusive culture that supports Sutcliffe’s growth and community impact.

Looking ahead, Jacqui will be sharing her story in the lead-up to our annual 2025 Sutcliffe Spring Ball in April, which will support Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity, and Liverpool University Hospitals Charity. We invite you to join us for this special evening, where we’ll celebrate and show our support for these important causes.

Jacqui would like to express her sincere thanks to all the friends and supporters of Sutcliffe who voted for her and offered encouragement during a challenging time. Your support has meant the world to Jacqui.

Jacqui, we are incredibly proud of you. You are a vital part of the Sutcliffe team, and this award is a testament to the strength, spirit, and impact you bring to everything you do.

“I feel valued, empowered and encouraged”

At Sutcliffe I found a supportive environment that values both my career and family life. As a mother and professional engineer, balance can be challenging, but the company’s understanding has allowed me to be fully present for my family while pursuing my professional goals. I feel valued, empowered and encouraged and my achievements are celebrated.
