Under the sunning glass dome of Sefton Park’s beautiful Palm House, Sutcliffe was honoured to receive the Chair’s Award at this year’s City of Liverpool Business Awards, hosted by Downtown in Business.
This award means a great deal to us, especially as we celebrate 40 years of Sutcliffe. It’s a nod to the journey we’ve been on, the places we’ve created, the communities we have supported, the people we’ve had the pleasure of working with along the way, and the commitment we have made to the city region and beyond.
The Chair’s Award is a recognition of longevity and leadership, which comes with integrity and positive impact. For us, it celebrates everything that Sutcliffe stands for – quality and community.
Over the last four decades, we’ve built a reputation for engineering expertise across healthcare, education, housing, blue light, commercial and leisure sectors, and we’re incredibly proud of the impact we’ve had. Whether it’s designing new hospitals, supporting housing developments, transforming regeneration schemes, or helping create the schools and universities of the future, we’ve always worked with care, commitment and a genuine passion for improving lives through the built environment.
In fact, we like to say that wherever you go in Liverpool, you’re never far from a Sutcliffe project. On almost every street corner, there’s a building we’ve played a part in, and that’s something we’ll never stop being proud of.
The Chair’s Award also recognised our charitable work, which is such an important part of who we are. This year, we raised an incredible £89,000 at our annual Sutcliffe Charity Ball, supporting three amazing local charities. Giving back to the community that’s supported us over the years is something we care deeply about, and we’re so pleased to see that recognised.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Downtown in Business for this recognition, and to all of our clients, partners, and friends who’ve been part of the journey so far. But most of all, thank you to our incredible team of engineers, and all the employees who are simply best in class.
