The former nursing home site provided care for up to 29 residents in a one-storey building. The plans were approved to bulldoze the former site and construct a much larger, three- storey care home to accommodate up to 60 people.

The former site had been inactive for several years, therefore a development of Pottersway House Care Home is greatly beneficial to the community. Sutcliffe began work upon completion of the demolition of the former Alsager Court Care Centre.

Sutcliffe provided environmental remediation and validation services including site visits, a gas membrane inspection, chemical analysis and a report and risk assessment.

Post demolition, Sutcliffe provided a phase I desktop study and environmental assessment and phase II site investigation and project management services.

For civil and structural engineering services, Sutcliffe provided a substructure and superstructure design, prepared structural calculation packages, a below ground drainage design for foul and surface water and external works sub-base design.

Additionally, Sutcliffe liased with Staffordshire County Council Highway Authorities to gain technical approval.

The former site being inactive presented an opportunity to build Pottersway House Care Home which has the capacity to house more residents and make a greater impact to the local community.
