The site was originally a brownfield site once home to the Langley ‘Three Sisters’ tower blocks. Sutcliffe undertook site investigations to be able to determine the ground conditions of the brownfield site to allow for redevelopment in collaboration with Rochdale Borough Council.

Sutcliffe designed a retaining wall design for the full perimeter of the site utilising a number of different retaining wall designs i.e. gabion basket, driven sheet piles, reinforced masonry.

We also provided full structural design of the building in masonry and part steel transfer structure for the open plan dining areas for residents.

Our main highways and drainage design was made to adoptable standards with all technical approvals now in place.

The scheme features interior décor in line with dementia-friendly Government criteria.

“I feel valued, empowered and encouraged”

At Sutcliffe I found a supportive environment that values both my career and family life. As a mother and professional engineer, balance can be challenging, but the company’s understanding has allowed me to be fully present for my family while pursuing my professional goals. I feel valued, empowered and encouraged and my achievements are celebrated.
