Find out more about what we do
Sutcliffe worked with the Archdiocese of Liverpool to help bring the Holy Family Community Hall back to life. The community lost an important gathering space when the original hall fell into disrepair and had to be demolished. Our role was to provide civil and structural engineering services to create a modern, welcoming hall that would serve local people for years to come.

We started work in February 2019, designing a space that would be strong, practical, and inviting. To make sure it met the needs of the community, we used a hybrid engineering method—a steel frame for the main hall to create an open, flexible space, and load-bearing masonry for the smaller rooms to provide durability and warmth.
But this project wasn’t just about the building. We also designed new parking, landscaping, retaining walls, and a sustainable drainage system, making sure the whole site was safe, accessible, and built to modern standards. The main construction was completed in 2023, but our involvement continues, as we are now helping with retaining wall remediation to ensure the site remains secure.
Now, the Holy Family Community Hall is ready to once again bring people together. Whether it’s for events, local group activities, or social gatherings, this space will be a valuable asset for the community and the Archdiocese. We’re proud to have played a part in making it happen.
