The interior has been designed to allow for adaptability with doorways, halls and rooms designed specifically with wheelchair manoeuvrability in mind and door handles, locks and switches positioned at suitable heights.
Wigan Council instructed Sutcliffe to provide geo-technical and civil and structural engineering services. Sutcliffe provided a phase
I desktop study and phase II Site Investigations for geo-technical services. For civil and structural engineering, Sutcliffe delivered
a FRA, CCTV drainage strategy and survey, a noise survey and a topographical survey, a transport and arboricultural assessment, a habitat and ecology and coal mining risk assessment.
The Wharfdale extra care facility is very important to the local community, giving elderly and disabled residents a comfortable place to live, in a home that has been designed to specifically meet their needs.
