St. Cuthbert’s Primary School
Sutcliffe’s involvement in the St. Cuthbert’s School project began at the concept design stage and continued through to the tender phase, working under Arcadis for the Archdiocese of Liverpool. Once the contractor, Kier, was appointed, Sutcliffe was novated and played a key role in design team meetings and civil and structural design support.

The project entailed constructing a new single-storey school building while keeping the existing school operational. Sutcliffe designed a comprehensive drainage system that adhered to sustainable drainage requirements, as well as managed external works. The structural design included a new steel frame supported by piled foundations, ensuring the new building was robust and fit for purpose while the old facilities remained in use.
