Sutcliffe were part of the team delivering the £90 Million redevelopment of Greenbank Student Accommodation Campus for the University of Liverpool. The University was seeking to fully redevelop and expand its residential accommodation to create a sustainable student village including commercial, catering and sports facilities.
Extensive surveys were carried out in the pre-construction phase in order to minimise risks, particularly in the ground as we understood there were the presence of tunnels, including intrusive site investigation, drainage surveys, soak-away testing, structural surveys & building surveys.
Efficient structual and civil engineering solutions were developed in close conjunction with the contractor’s preferred build methodology. This comprised of designing reinforced concrete frames, piled foundations, pad foundations, contiguous piled retaining walls and reinforced concrete retaining walls and timber framed structures.
