Sutcliffe are currently working closely with Gilling Dod architects on the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit extension at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital, which is a P22 framework scheme being delivered by Interserve Construction (PSCP). The overall project value is approximately £15m.
Sutcliffe provided core civil & structural engineering services encompassing steel frame design, piled foundation design along with external works and below ground drainage design to incorporate SUDS (bespoke surface water attenuation system). Sutcliffe have integrated cantilevered beams and trusses into the steel frame in order to achieve Gilling Dod’s eye catching design, as the extension is primarily at first floor level. Sutcliffe also carried out environmental investigations to support the Planning Submission including the Phase I desk study, Phase II intrusive site investigation and Phase III remediation strategy.
