In 2022, Sutcliffe made a pledge to raise a total of £48,103 of social value in recognition of our CSR commitments with the ICN Framework and to ensure we were contributing to our local city and holding ourselves accountable to the goals we had set.

After receiving eight call-offs from three different housing associations, we delivered 66 different outcomes in response to our pledges, creating a total of £88,347 of social value, far surpassing our initial commitment.

Below are some examples of the types of projects we have supported and services we have delivered:

  • 12 different food, fuel, or furniture poverty initiatives with cash contributions in total of £5,294 – We provided direct support for those hit hardest by the cost of living crisis. Support included a donation to Mustard Tree which creates opportunities for people to help themselves through a variety of practical support that is solely driven by the needs of an individual. The type of services it provides include, a food club, furniture and clothes support, offering friendship, connections to work, improvements to health and well-being plus new experiences to encourage aspiration.
  • Six workshops for a variety of businesses, including “How can sustainable development support sustainable economies”, discussing the cost vs benefit when looking at sustainability, and how can sustainability be factored into developments to ensure the environment and local people are also able to benefit
  • Completed 646 hours of volunteering to support community projects which consisted of providing mentoring support to local children through the LFC Foundation. By providing this type of mentoring support, we helped to reduce barriers for local young people, guiding them on a pathway to maximise their full potential
  • Attended eight different careers events including a careers fair at a local college, supporting young people into different professions and advising on suitable pathways to enter the industry. While a lot of these activities were pre-planned, some were reactive to the need of communities such as volunteering to prepare and donate essentials to Ukrainian refugees following the announcement of the Ukraine war

We are extremely proud of the entire team for working together to create a massive impact on communities across the North West. Well done Team Sutcliffe!
